Big Cypress National Preserve

10/30/1999 Headed west to the Big Cypress National Preserve. Saw a film at the visitor center and walked a bit on the Florida National Scenic Trail until it got too wet; not much to do here.

Timucuan Ecological/Historical Preserve

8/19/1997 ... drove to the coast along the St. Johns River to Kingsley Plantation at the Timucuan Preserve (NPS). Weather very hot and humid, with an approaching thunderstorm. Saw the plantation house, as well as the slave quarters made from cement filled with whole shells. Not a whole lot here, and with a downpour starting decided to move on.
