Arkansas Post National Memorial

5/17/2002 ... then to Arkansas Post National Memorial [NHL]. This was the site of a post, a few forts, with history back to 1600’s. Saw visitor center film/exhibits and walked around grounds. Not a lot here; some nice views of the river.

10/3/2015 Having turned north, we continued to the Arkansas Post NMem. We had both been here before; my goal was to get details on the Menard-Hodges NHL, managed by the NMem. The ranger confirmed my understanding that we weren't supposed to go there, and in any case it was a 45 minute one-way detour ending up on gravel roads. Not wanting to do that, we continued cruising north.
