Wild & Scenic Rivers (Non-Units) - Connecticut
Eightmile Wild & Scenic River
8/7/2010 Picked up Subway sandwiches, then continued to Devil’s Hopyard State Park. The Eightmile WSR runs
through here. Stopped at Chapman Falls, first had our picnic lunch, then walked down to a very pretty cascade/falls. Went down the
road a bit more to the main picnic area and walked across the river on a nice covered bridge, then along the river in pretty surroundings.

Farmington (West Branch) Wild & Scenic River
11/7/2005 West on I90, then down to CT to Pleasant Valley. Pulled off at a bridge crossing the Farmington
River, also in the WSR system. Beautiful spot, with the cold, fast-running river, trees turning, setting sun and anglers in the
stream. Drove up the west side of the river, crossed in Riverton and up to the Goodwin Dam, the north end of the WSR. Drove onto
the dam for a great view into the river valley and the reservoir.
