Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve

5/21/2000 Headed west to the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. Arrived around 8:45, 15 minutes before opening. This site preserves a remaining part of the original vast tracts of prairie, as well as the Spring Hill Ranch. Saw the ranch buildings, including a huge barn. Got a personal, early tour of the beautiful limestone home/mansion, and walked to an overlook of the prairie.
