Ozark Scenic Riverways

7/29/2006 Drove south into the Ozarks and into the Ozarks National Scenic Riverways system. Stopped at Alley Spring and Alley Mill. The site was beautiful – huge red mill building on a very pretty spring and river in a bit of a morning fog. Took a walk around the spring and saw the mill exhibits. A Ranger started up the corn/wheat grinding mill powered by a turbine rather than wheel and using rollers instead of stones – much quieter. Back out of the park, stopping to check out many canoe, raft, etc. people using the many rivers.
