National Historical Parks - New York

Harriet Tubman National Historical Park

7/21/2020 We had been here years ago to visit as an NHL, but had to get official credit as an NHP, maybe with some NPS signage. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no indication of NPS presence! The AME church was clearly well into restoration, but with plenty to go. The home looked the same, and we couldn’t even get onto the fenced grounds with the remaining structures that we had before, due to pandemic closure. So, a pretty lame visit for an NHP!.

Saratoga National Historical Park

5/9/1997 ... to Saratoga NHP [in the Hudson River Valley NHA]. Saw film and displays at visitor center, then drove loop road. Stopped at American fortification area for lunch in the car, and took a trail near the British retreat area.

Women's Rights National Historical Park

7/18/1997 Back-tracked into Seneca Falls to the Women’s Rights National Historic Park. Saw good film at the visitor center, then walked around the remains of the site of the first women’s convention turned into a monument.

5/14/2012 Headed west to Seneca Falls into Women’s Rights NHP and the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House NHL [also in the Erie Canalway NHC]. This is the 1847 to 1862 family home of the suffragette. Not much to do but photo the home and read the signage.

7/21/2020 Elizabeth Cady Stanton NHL (Seneca Falls). This is the 1847 to 1862 family home of the suffragette. It is also in the Women’s Rights National Historical Park and is a repeat for me. Really little here but the house and some signage, but we did chat briefly with a ranger.
