10/3/2019 ... then into Badlands NP. This was the best part of the day, taking us back to our roots of
big park travel. We headed a little bit down a side road for some wildlife viewing. We saw what looked like Pronghorn Sheep,
then some Bison right on the side of the road - great for viewing and photography, but not looking very natural as they were
scratching themselves on fence posts and poles. Back onto the main park road we checked out the spectacular scenery on a perfect
day. We pulled into most view areas, and at many we got out and took a gazillion photos of the rugged sculpted features and
multicolored eroded volcanic deposits. Near the east end of the park we took a short boardwalk trail which ended in an area
where we could walk out onto the rough terrain, climbing up and down on the coarse rough surface.

9/6/1992 Drove to Wind Cave National Park (saw bison on the
way!), took early tour of caves - very interesting, although not very colorful.
