National Battlefields - Tennessee
Stones River National Battlefield
2/8/1995 Started back to Nashville; stopped on the way at Stones River National
Battlefield. Saw a slide show, and a "whelming" short drive around the battlefield.

5/29/2025 The National Battlefield memorializes the Battle of Stones River. This key battle of the Civil War occurred on December 31, 1862,
and January 2, 1863, and resulted in a strategic Union victory. Although the main auto route through the park was closed, there were stops along the public road
as well, where we could see a period (i.e. during the war, not decades later) monument to fallen soldiers and some cannons. Back at the VC area we saw more cannons
and caissons, and of course interpretive signage.
