Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial
9/21/1996 Walked up to Arlington House-Robert E. Lee Memorial. Lee lived here before resigning his commission and joining the Confederacy. Magnificent view of D.C. from here, with views of the Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington Monument/Memorials, and the Capital.
11/9/2008 Walked from there down and back up to the Robert E. Lee home (Arlington House - NPS). The views downtown from here are fantastic; unfortunately the views inside the house were not, due to a renovation project. Walked through the mostly empty rooms of the house Lee lived in before joining the Confederacy.
