San Juan Island National Historical Park

8/31/2004 … then off to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Another gorgeous day – enjoyed watching the boats, water, mountains, etc. in the one hour ride. Off in Friday Harbor, drove to the American Camp in the San Juan Islands NHP [American and English Camps, San Juan Island NHL]. This is where a long dispute took place in finalizing the border between the U.S. and British Canada. Saw the parade grounds and enjoyed a walk down to the bluffs over Grandma’s Harbor, from where we could see the Olympic Range and Victoria on Vancouver Island.
