Whitman Mission National Historic Site

5/27/2010 ... across the Columbia to near Walla Walla and Whitman Mission NHS. This site commemorates the Whitmans, who ran a Mission and guided settlers until they and others were killed by the Indians. Watched the VC film and checked out the museum, then walked the trails showing the location of the Mission buildings. Also walked along the Oregon Trail [NHT in WA] following ruts, then up a hill to the Whitman Memorial and a nice view, and down to the grave site.
