2/20/2013 From there we headed more towards the center of Trenton ... and picked up the Delaware River NSB. This had some nice views of the river and more of the parallel canal, but wasn’t outstanding. We proceeded to Titusville to ... Lower Delaware National Wild & Scenic River

Millstone Valley Scenic Byway

6/2/2012 ... navigated to Millstone and the Millstone Valley NSB. Headed south, first with the river to our left, then crossed over it and the Delaware and Raritan Canal and continued with the canal to our right. Very pleasant drive on a beautiful day. Stopped for a bit in the Delaware and Raritan Canal SP along one of the canal locks.

3/14/2014 ... then moved on to the start of the Millstone Valley Scenic Byway. I had done this already, but got to go down the east side of the canal for the full way this time. We stopped at the Blackwells Mills Canal House on the way. The house was built around 1835, at the same time as the canal, to house the bridge tender. The bridge tender would turn the swing bridge when boats came through, then turn it back to allow road traffic to cross over the canal. Some nice views here, and it would have made for some better photos if the skies weren’t still overcast.
