Burlingame State Park

7/1971 Drove to Rhode Island around July 4th. Stayed one night at Cards Campground, then at Burlingame State Park. Used new Sportyak boat in lake.

8/1972 Camping at Burlingame State Park with Pomerenks. Boating on lake; Uncle Bob managed to flip his Sportyak in sailing mode; we went to "rescue" him and he was sitting on top of the upside-down boat. The top of the mast was stuck in mud and the boat created a lot of suction; it was tough to right the boat.

Fort Adams State Park

10/3/2017 We jumped off to head up to Fort Adams State Park and NHL. This is former Army post established on July 4, 1799 as a First System coastal fortification, named for President John Adams. The timing didn’t work out for us to take the tour here, so instead we walked about three quarters of the way around the fort, enjoying the sights of the harbor on another perfect day.
