Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument

4/28/2017 Driving out of town we were passing along a river which got close to the road, then saw signs about it along with access areas: when we saw signs including Wild and Scenic and BLM we had to pull over. Sure enough, it was the Rio Grande WSR in the southernmost tip of the BLM Wild Rivers Recreation Area in the Rio Grande Del Norte NM - whoo-hoo! After nice photos, and Ken doing the requisite hand-in-the-water, we continued south .

Valley of Fires Recreation Area

9/11/2008 Got off for the 60 mile (one way) diversion to the Valley of Fires RA Site [BLM]. Although the rain had started up, it was pretty light when I took the enjoyable loop trail down around the lava flow which had come from fissures, etc. (not a volcano).
