Northern Plains National Heritage Area

6/2008 Note: Research indicates that the Northern Plains National Heritage Area was well into planning, and was in fact introduced into Congress in July 2008 and signed into law March 2009. Given that status, and the extent to which we covered the NHA, we are taking credit. The sites in the NHA that we visited are Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site, Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum, On-A-Slant Mandan Village, and Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park
