Nebo Loop Scenic Byway

Total Segments Traveled
9/17/2009 Got onto the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway. This was about 30 miles of fantastic scenery
on a beautiful day. It climbed up over 9000 feet with views across to mountains both east and west. Rising sun really
lit up the slopes. The only problem was having to be constantly vigilant for the many cows that were wandering along
and across the road.

Scenic Byway 12

Total Segments Traveled
9/18/2009 Got on Scenic Byway Route 12 right across the road from the hotel. This route has to be
one of the most scenic in the country and I eventually took all of it to just south of Panguitch. The first part was
similar to Nebo, climbing into the mountains in the rising sun. Fantastic views, with beautiful tall birches and changing
leaves. Not quite as many cows, bit more deer to watch for. Over the course of the day the views and road changed to high
ridges, tight canyon badlands and all sorts of beautiful, colorful, simply great scenery in perfect weather. Even went
through a couple of rock tunnels near the end.
